Full admission to graduate study in nursing requires meeting each of the three academic standards as listed below and receiving the endorsement of the program director. All students must complete the PHSSN Application for Admission.
Admission to the MSN program does not guarantee admission to the FNP program.
Provisional admission to graduate study in nursing requires the Graduate Record Exam, meeting one of the two GPA academic standards listed above, and obtaining departmental endorsement. Students granted provisional admission must maintain a 3.00 GPA during their first nine hours of graduate study. The applicant is encouraged to submit the application and all supporting documents by June 1 to receive full consideration for admission to the fall graduate course work.

Students at PHSSN are invited to join the Student Nurses Association, a chapter of the Texas Student Nurses Association. SNA provides professional development and leadership opportunities for students as they pursue their nursing education and prepare for initial licensure as registered nurses.
