Faculty and students of PHSSN host free immunization clinics throughout Abilene and the West Central Texas region each month. Immunization clinics are an extension of existing resources, designed to provide additional opportunities for families to immunize their children, particularly in rural areas.
With 12-15 clinics per semester, students at PHSSN benefit from hands-on community clinical experience. In 2009, immunization compliance in the state of Texas rose significantly, due in part to the work done by the PHSSN Immunization Outreach Clinic.
Hours for the clinics are typically 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. and the locations vary.
Clinics are open to children ages birth to 18 years.
