Welcome to the Patty Hanks Shelton School of Nursing! The faculty, staff, and student body are honored to be affiliated with Christian universities in the West Texas area to offer a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) degree. Here at the Patty Hanks Shelton School of Nursing (PHSSN), we are committed to preparing you to sit for the national licensing exam (NCLEX-RN) to become a registered nurse.
As a member of the PHSSN family, you will be in a cohort of students from Hardin-Simmons and McMurry universities who have completed two years of general education requirements, and have been accepted into our nursing program to complete the final two years of nursing education. On your journey to becoming a Registered Professional Nurse, you will have the opportunity to experience an introduction to nursing in some of the area’s premiere healthcare agencies, participate in interactive courses, perfect your skills in a state-of-the-art clinical simulation laboratory, and join nursing organizations. Our partnerships with community organizations and nurses will expose you to a wealth of expertise and highlight numerous nursing specialties.
At PHSSN, we are committed to preparing nursing students for Christian leadership and service throughout Texas, the nation, and the world. We look forward to meeting and working with you to help you prepare for an exciting career in nursing.
